Chapter 2: The Law of Inevitability (The “Uncheatable” Algorithm)
In the “perfect” Hindu model, the Law of Karma is not a judicial system managed by a “judge” who can be bribed or persuaded. Instead, it is presented as a Natural Law, as cold and consistent as gravity or thermodynamics.
The intellectuals sell this “Inevitability” through three core principles:
1. The “Like-for-Like” Coding (Linear Causality)
The system operates on the principle of Vipaka (ripening). Just as a biological seed has the “code” for a specific tree, every action has a specific “moral DNA.”
- The Logic: A violent action cannot result in a peaceful outcome, even if it’s “done for the right reasons.” If you plant a seed of thorns, you will eventually walk on thorns.
- The Perfection: This removes all ambiguity. There are no “gray areas” in the cosmic ledger; the quality of the “input” (action) determines the quality of the “output” (result) with mathematical precision.
2. The Conservation of Moral Energy (Krita-pranasha & Akrita-abhyagama)
To make the system “perfect,” two logical safeguards are installed to ensure there are no “accounting errors”:
- Krita-pranasha (Non-loss of the Performed): No action ever fades away without producing a result. You cannot “wait out” your bad deeds. They stay in the warehouse (Chapter 1) until the conditions are right for them to manifest.
- Akrita-abhyagama (Non-receipt of the Unperformed): You can never experience a result (good or bad) that you did not personally “earn.” There is no “collateral damage” in the Law of Karma. If you are suffering, the system insists you must have the corresponding debt in your warehouse.
3. The “Unavoidable Ripening” (The Time Factor)
The proponents argue that “time” is merely a variable, not a barrier.
- The Logic: Some seeds (like radishes) ripen in weeks; others (like oak trees) take decades. Karma is the same. Some results are Pratyaksha (immediate), while others are Paroksha (hidden/delayed).
- The Perfection: The delay doesn’t mean the law has failed; it just means the “market conditions” (the environment and your other karmas) aren’t yet right for that specific seed to sprout.
The “Perfect” Summary of Chapter 2
This chapter is sold as the ultimate Antidote to Injustice. It promises the masses that:
- True Justice is Absolute: Even if the earthly courts fail, the “Cosmic Algorithm” never misses a beat.
- No One is a Victim of Luck: “Luck” is just a word used by people who don’t have access to the full ledger of their past lives.
- The Universe is Rational: Everything that happens to you is the logical “reaction” to your own “action.”
In the eyes of the proponents, this makes the universe a “Safe Place” because it is governed by predictable rules rather than the whims of a capricious god or random chance.
